Heart Series - Red
Redy Rahadian - Painted Steel
This sculpture features a large, vivid red heart formed from interconnected human figures supporting one another, merging, and assembling into the most universal symbol: the heart.
But this work isn’t merely about love. Look closer two small figures at the base are holding the entire weight of the heart. It’s a powerful visual representation of how love, affection, or even emotional pain in our lives often rests on the shoulders of certain individuals. It could be parents, partners, friends, or even ourselves.
The red color reflects passion, strength, and vulnerability in a single breath. And from this perspective, Redy Rahadian seems to convey: Love does not stand alone. It is the result of the courage to carry, nurture, and fight for it even when we are small, even when we are fragile.
