Infinity and Beyond takes the figure of eight as both form and idea. Hundreds of Redy Rahadian’s figures gather into a continuous body, circling through one another without a clear beginning or end. From a distance, the sculpture appears singular and complete. Up close, it reveals itself as a multitude, each figure contributing to the strength and rhythm of the whole.
Thetitle shifts infinity from something mathematical into something human.Continuity here is built through presence, repetition, memory, and connection. The work suggests that what carries us forward is rarely individual. We movebeyond ourselves through the people, experiences, and traces that become partof who we are.
Thesplashed colour breaks the severity of the steel, bringing chance and movement into the surface. It gives the work a sense oflife still unfolding. Infinity and Beyond becomes not only a reflection onendlessness, but on the possibility of continuing past what is known, past whatis fixed, and past the limits we once believed were final.
