Dragon Series II
Redy Rahadian - Painted Steel
In Chinese tradition, the red dragon symbolizes prosperity, protection, and strength guided by wisdom. The gold dragon, equally revered, represents nobility, abundance, and spiritual enlightenment. Together, they are celestial forces not in opposition, but in balance dancing in eternal harmony.
In this sculpture, Redy Rahadian reimagines these mythical guardians through his signature human steel figures. Each individual figure, a soul in motion, forms part of a greater whole their bodies coiling and intertwining into the twin serpentine forms of red and gold. One breathes fire, the other exudes warmth and grace. Their union is both fierce and fluid, evoking a timeless dance of duality.
This intertwined pair does not battle, but elevate one another a reflection of the belief that harmony is born not from sameness, but from difference moving in rhythm.
