Heart Series - White
Redy Rahadian - Painted Steel
In this work, Redy Rahadian weaves together tiny human figures to form one of the most primal yet complex symbols in human life a heart. But this heart does not stand alone. It is wrapped, entangled, embraced, and simultaneously burdened by similar figures, as if reflecting the relationship between the heart and the people surrounding it.
The white color of the heart’s body symbolizes purity, hope, and sincere desires born from within. However, the winding paths of human figures around it create a contrast: the heart is never entirely neutral. It is shaped, constrained, and sometimes wounded by relationships, expectations, and the relentless pressures of reality.
This piece is a metaphor for emotional fragility and strength the heart as a battlefield between love and pain, between letting go and attachment. Redy does not present the heart as a sentimental symbol, but as a living existential field crowded, struggling, and constantly trying to beat amid the weight of the outside world.
